Amy Penne earned her Ph.D. in English from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is a Professor of English in Humanities at Parkland College. Amy teaches courses in all areas of the Humanities, including Women in the Arts & Culture, Western Civilization & Cultures, Introduction to Poetry, and myriad versions of College Composition. Currently, Amy serves as the Arts Editor for Champaign-Urbana’s Smile Politely. A lifelong teacher and learner, she has also completed certificates in Spiritual Direction, Franciscan Studies, and Faculty Development.
